Simy Returns As Rohr Releases Revised 23-man List For Cameroon Friendly

Crotone forward Simy Nwankwo has been recalled to the Super Eagles squad by head coach Gernot Rohr for the upcoming friendly match against Cameroon in Austria on June 4.

Simy was last with the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and on the back of a goalscoring season with Crotone where he scored 20 goals, he has been recalled to the Eagles fold. 

Rohr first released a 31man list which has now been trimmed down to 23 for the game in Austria. There’s no place for the Rangers duo of Leon Balogun and Joe Aribo. Zaidu Sanusi and Henry Onyekuru also miss out.

Enyimba duo of goalkeeper John Noble and winger Anayo Iwuala retain their places. Captain Ahmed Musa, who plays for Kano Pillars, also makes the cut.
