Super Eagles To Play Mexico In A Friendly Game In US On July 3

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play the Tricolor of Mexico in a friendly game at the famous Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the State of California, United States of America on Saturday, 3rd July, 2021.

The match which will kick off at 7:30pm Los Angeles time will be the sixth encounter between the two countries, four of which have ended in draws and Mexico winning the other match in 1995 in the US Gold Cup.

Mexico is the most successful team in the CONCACAF Gold Cup with eight titles and are the current Cup holders while Nigeria have won the Africa Cup of Nations three times, last winning it in 2013.

NFF’s FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodata Sport, said: “We are happy to be able to announce this match, which is a clash between two very big teams from two different continents. Mexico against Nigeria is a big match any day and the venue is class.”

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers CAF edition which was scheduled to hold in June was postponed till September allowing the Eagles more time to prepare.
