Super Eagles Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye Makes Eredivisie Team Of The Season

Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has been named in the Eredivisie Team of the Season by Dutch newspaper Voetbalzone for his impressive performances between the sticks for Sparta Rotterdam.

He joined Sparta Rotterdam from German club Fortuna Dusseldorf at the beginning of the season and made an immediate impact at the club putting up strings of impressive performances.

He has conceded 35 goals in 28 games, kept 10 clean sheets and saved 33% of the penalties he faced.

“With competitors such as Remko Pasveer from Vitesse and Sergio Padt from FC Groningen, the choice was not easy, but Okoye had a wonderful season at Sparta,” voetbalzone said on their website.

The 20year old German Nigerian has seen his transfer value rise by five times its worth when he joined Sparta and is reported to be attracting interest from other clubs including Champions Ajax.
