Alisson Keep Liverpool’s Champions League Hope Alive With Last Second Header
Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson Becker scored a last-second header to give the Reds a 2-1 victory over already relegated West Brom to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Hal Robson-Kanu put the Baggies ahead in the first half before Mohamed Salah pulled it back with a brilliant strike a few minutes to the end of the first half.
The second half saw the two teams have chances but couldn’t convert. The breakthrough came for Liverpool with a last minute corner. Trent Alexander-Arnold whipped it in for Alisson Becker to head home.
He became the first goalkeeper in Liverpool’s history to score a goal and the first goalkeeper in Premier League history to score a headed goal.
The win moves Liverpool up to fifth, one point behind Chelsea and boosts their hopes of playing Champions League football next season.
