Champions League Final Moved to Portugal, UEFA announce officials for both finals

The 2020/21 UEFA Champions League Final between Chelsea and Manchester City has been moved away from the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul Turkey to Porto’s Estadio do Dragao stadium in Portugal.

The shift comes as a result of the Covid19 travel ban imposed on Turkey by the UK which would prevent fans of both clubs from travelling to Turkey.

The UK government wanted the final to be moved to the Wembley Stadium in London but UEFA has now settled for Portugal.

UEFA also announced officials for both the Champions League and Europa League finals. Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz got the nod for the for the Champions League final while French referee Clement Turpin will officiate the Europa League final between Villarreal and Manchester United.
