Buffon Announces Juventus Departure At The End Of The Season
Legendary goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has announced he will not be renewing his contract and will leave Juventus at the end of the current season.
“I’ve decided that at the end of the season, this very long & beautiful experience at Juventus will come to an end,” he said on BEINSport
“I have given everything I have to Juventus, and received everything and even more, nothing more can be done. We have come to the end of a natural cycle.”
Buffon did not specify whether he will retire at 43 or he will find another club; “My future is very clear and is already outlined.
“Either I stop playing or, if I find a situation that stimulates me to play or have a different life experience, I will take it into consideration”.
He joined the Biaconneri from Parma in 2001 and has been at the club since then excluding the 2018/19 season he spent at French club PSG.
He played over 600 games for the Old Lady, winning 21 trophies excluding the UEFA Champions League. He was part of the Italy squad that won the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
