PSG Enter Forbes’ 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams Globally

Paris Saint-Germain is now one of the 50 most valuable sports teams in the world, according to the Forbes ranking unveiled this Monday by the leading business magazine.

The Qatar Sports Investment backed Paris club [who took over the club in 2011] enters the ranking at #43, which orders the valuations of the top 50 franchises across the NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB and European Football.

PSG who was ranked ninth most valuable football club last month by Forbes ranks number 1 for the highest valuation growth over the last five-years (+207%), with a particular surge in value enjoyed over the past 24 months (+129%).

“We can be proud to have elevated Paris Saint-Germain among the most valuable sports franchises in the world,” says Nasser al-Khelaïfi, Chairman and CEO of PSG.

“While we take satisfaction in the progress, we remain focused on our future objectives. We are working on many projects on and off the pitch in the next few years that will consolidate and reinforce the strength of our institution and brand, for generations to come.”

PSG were Champions League finalists last season but lost to PSG and have also failed in their attempt to reach their second ever final after losing the semifinal to Manchester City who are also in their first ever final 4-1 on aggregate.
