Bayern Munich new boy Dayot Upamecano says he derives his happiness from doing his job well on the pitch and also when his friends and family are fine and not in luxurious lifestyles.
Footballers are one of the biggest patronisers of luxury but the modest Upamecano who will join up with Bayern Munich next season for a reported €43m believes you don’t need luxury to be happy.
You don’t drive four luxury sedans or wear a Rolex. Jurgen Klopp would call you “The Normal One”. What is wrong with you?
“I just concentrate on my job and have a responsibility to my colleagues and the entire club,” he told SportBuzzer on why he doesn’t drive luxury sedans or wear Rolex watches. “If my club, family, and friends are fine, I’m fine too. Do you need an expensive watch to be happy? I do not think so.”
The French international will move from Leipzig to Munich where house prices are on high and on if he found one to suit his lifestyle, he said no and is waiting till summer to find one.
“No, I’m not looking just yet. I’m fully focused on my job in Leipzig. Then I can calmly do that in the summer”
The 22year old will hope to be included in Didier Deschamps Les Blues squad for the delayed Euro 2020 where France are drawn in the same group with defending champions Portugal, Germany and Hungary.
