Why Kamaru Usman vs Conor McGregor May Happen Soon
Kamaru Usman knocked out Jorge Masvidal at UFC261 in front of 15,000 UFC fans, for the first time in over a year to defend his welterweight title and extend his unbeaten run to 17.
The Notorious Conor McGregor soon came for Usman accusing the Nigerian Nightmare of stealing his shots with the manner he knocked the Street Jesus out.
Usman had earlier offered Conor a title fight which he was silent on and Usman takes his silence for a no; “Conor knows he doesn’t want those problems,” he told TMZ.
“I’ve offered him a title fight … I’ve given Conor the shot. Conor, you have the shot if you want it. Conor doesn’t want it, you know? At the end of the day, he won’t say my name, as well. He was silent.”
McGregor made reference to the Usman Burns fight which was called off twice before happening at UFC258. It was first at UFC251 after Burns tested positive to coronavirus and second at UFC253 for an undisclosed reason ESPN said was for Usman “to get more time.
Usman has beaten some of the best men in the welterweight category, Leon Edwards, Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington, Gilbert Burns and recently Jorge Masvidal and a fight against the Notorious could happen soon if Dana White capitalise on their online spat.
Usman is 19-1 in MMA, while McGregor is 22-5 and should a fight between the two happen anytime soon, it’s going to be a fight the UFC fans would love.
