Crotone forward Simy Nwankwo continues his fine goalscoring form in the Serie A, scoring in his eighth consecutive matches today.

He scored his 18th and 19th Serie A goals of the season in the 4-3 win away at fellow relegation strugglers Parma, which puts him as the highest scoring Nigerian in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season.

He has now scored 29 Serie A goals which puts him ahead of Obafemi Martins who scored 28 goals for Inter Milan as the highest scoring Nigerian in Italy’s top flight competition.

Simy did so in lesser games than Martins, his 29 goals have come in 77 Serie A matches while Martins scored his 28 goals in 88 games.

Simy is only behind Romelu Lukaku (21) and Cristiano Ronaldo (25) in this season’s scoring charts. His goals have not been enough to save Crotone as they are rooted to the bottom of the table and could be relegated to Serie B if they lose their next game against league leaders Inter Milan.
