Hansi Flick Announces Departure From Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick has announced he would leave the club at the end of the season, bringing to an end weeks of speculations regarding his future at the club beyond this season.
Since the DFB announced that Joachim Löw will be stepping down from the Germany national team job after Euro 2020, Flick who was a former assistant of Löw is expected to take over.
“I want to terminate my contract this summer, that is a fact,” Flick told Sky Germany after Bayern’s 3-2 win over Wolfsburg.
“It was important to me that the team finds out about it from me personally. I already told the people in charge after our Champions League elimination during the week.”
“I also want to thank the club that gave me the chance to manage this incredible team.” he added.
Flick took over in December 2019 after Niko Kovac was sacked, with the team in fifth position, he turned the season around and won the sextuple and is on course to win his second Bundesliga title to make it seven trophies in one and half year at the club.
