These Are The Games We Play Football For, Says Flick As He Expects Tough Match Against PSG
Bayern Munich face a tough test against PSG if tbey are to progress to the UEFA Champions League semifinal and retain the chances of defending their title.
Bayern had themselves to blame for not taking their chances in the first leg and Flick says his team is aware of their lack of efficiency and must do better. He also said they would be delighted with a mini upset.
“We had many chances in the first leg, but weren’t so clinical. We have to do better. We know it won’t be easy, but we will give everything,” he said during his press conference.
“We know we have to score at least two goals. It will be a tough task, but these are the games we play football for. We want to cause a mini upset in Paris. Of course, we’ll be delighted if we manage that.”
Experienced forward man Thomas Muller says the team would be grateful to have so many chances against but they must make better use of the chances if they come. He says the team would approach the game balanced and not all attack.
“We would be happy to have as many chances [as in the last game],” he said. “We need to make better decisions in the critical moments. We have done some analysis and I hope we can implement it.
“We’ll approach the game as we normally do. It’s important to balance risks in individual situations. We won’t be going all-out-attack from the off. But we will try to score an early goal.”
Bayern will be without Robert Lewandowski and Niklas Süle but other injured players have return to training and Flick says that any player who trained have a chance to play.
