PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino said forward Kylian Mbappe have both admitted that they enjoyed a slice of luck in their 3-2 win against Bayern in the UEFA Champions League quarter final first leg but are ready for a tough second leg.

PSG beat Strasbourg 4-1 over the weekend to keep up pace with Lille on top of the Serie A table and will welcome Bayern to the Parc de Prince on Tuesday.

“To score three goals against such a good team is enormously difficult,” Pochettino said. “Our plan worked, but we also had that necessary slice of luck. It’s a very positive result, even though everything is still wide open.”

Mbappe scored twice in the first leg and says it was a difficult game against some of the best players in the world but his team’s efficiency helped them to victory.

“I love to play against the best players in the world, and Manuel Neuer is one of the best keepers in history,” he said. “It was a difficult game against the best team in Europe right now, and we suffered.

“We were lucky because Bayern had so many chances, but we were very efficient. It’s just half-time in a huge tie, though.”

Bayern Munich will be without Robert Lewandowski who only resumed light training this morning. Also missing would be Niklas Süle and Leon Goretzka who limped off in the first leg while PSG will welcome back Marco Veratti.
