Not A Perfect Night But A Good Result, Says Solskjær
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær believes their result away at Granada is a good result on a night that wasn’t perfect for the Red Devils.
United put themselves in comfortable position ahead of the second leg with a 2-0 win thanks to Marcus Rashford’s first half strike and Bruno Fernandes penalty in the dying embers.
“It’s not a prefect night,” Solskjær said after the match. “Of course we get three yellow cards and three suspensions for the next game, but a 2-0 result is a very good result.
“We know how difficult it is coming to Spain to get these kinds of results, we have to play well to get them and [I’m] very happy with the result.”
Though United have put themselves in a commanding position, Solskjær says they will approach the second leg with a winning mentality.
“The same as we always do. We want to win every game of football, because this is still a young team, it’s a learning team,” he said.
“We have to improve over time, we know in football it catches you so quickly if you rest and we cannot have any other approach than go forward and try to create chances and score goals, Especially at home, Old Trafford, we feel good at home of course.”
United will be without captain Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay for the second leg. The face a tough test against Tottenham in the league at the weekend.
