I’ve Earned The Right To Decide My Future – Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid and Spain captain Sergio Ramos’s contract situation at the capital club has been on a stand still for months as he runs down the final months of his current contract.

Insider reports say that talks between club president Fiorentino Perez and Ramos are on standstill and he could leave the club at the end of the season, but Ramos believes he has earned the right to decide on what his best steps would be amid speculations of a possible renewal or departure.

“I’ve earned the right to make whatever decision I want,” Ramos said in an Amazon Prime documentary, La Leyenda de Sergio Ramos (The Legend of Sergio Ramos) that will premiere in Spain this Friday, as quoted by AS.

“I am still at my best and in the years to come I will continue to perform at the highest level. If not, I’ll stay at home as it wouldn’t be worth it. The fact that I’m still at my best with my age is no accident. We have been sowing the seeds for years”

Ramos, 35, joined Real Madrid in 2005 from. Spanish rivals Sevilla and developed into arguably the greatest defender of all time. He has won every trophy at the club. He will miss the Champions League quarter final games due to injury picked up on international duty.

He has also two European titles and World Cup with Spain, becoming the most capped Spanish international player with 180 caps in the process.
