VIDEO: Malawi erupt in celebration as nation qualify for AFCON 2021

The nation of Malawi erupted in celebrations this afternoon after the country booked its ticket to AFCON 2021 in Cameroon by beating Uganda 1-0.

The Flames of Malawi engulfed the Cranes of Uganda and burnt them to qualify for their third appearance at the African Cup of Nations, having previously appeared in 1984 and in 2010.

Malawi went into the game a point behind Uganda and a draw could have seen the Cranes fly through  to Cameroon but the Flames ambushed and incinerated them, secured an all important three points to send themselves through to Cameroon.

Malawi finished second in Group B with 10 points, two points behind group winners Burkina Faso and two points above Uganda.
