Liverpool and Guinean midfielder Naby Keita has provided his private jet to convey Guinean teammates in France to Africa for the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
The French Football Federation initially banned players from Ligue 1 and 2 from leaving Europe, a rule which affects mostly Africans but was later overturned.
Local media Foot224 that Keita’s private jet will help convey defenders Issiaga Sylla (Lens) and Ibrahima Sory Conté (Niort) and Clermont striker Mohamed Bayo, current top scorer in Ligue 2 from France to Guinea.
Guinea will play Mali omMarch 24 in Conakry and Namibia on March 28 in Windhoek. Keita has been told by Liverpool he would not play against Namibia as it is one of the countries on Britain’s red list which would mean a period of isolation on return.
