UCL roundup: Liverpool brush aside Leipzig, Paris stalemate sends PSG through
Liverpool did a repeat of their first leg tie against RB Leipzig by beating Julian Nagelsmann side 2-0 with goals from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.
Both ties were played in the same venue due to travel restrictions and it produced the same result and same scorers as Nagelsmann is taught a bitter lesson by compatriot and a man he looks up to in Jurgen Klopp.
Barcelona showed fighting spirit and desire but it was not enough to usurp PSG. Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring from the spot in the 31st minute after Lenglet tripped Mauro Icardi and Mbappe converted.
Messi got one back for Barcelona six minutes later through a brilliant shot from about 25yards out which left Keylor Navas no chance. Messi then missed from the spot after Kurzawa fouled Griezmann.
The second half was all Barça attack but couldn’t produce a result as a hope of La Remontada was quashed and PSG are through as Neymar watched from the stands.
