Jürgen Klopp quashes reported interest in Germany job
Earlier today Joachim Löw and the DFB announced they would be severing ties at the end of Euro 2020 after 15 years in charge.
Jurgen Klopp is one of the names linked with taking the Die Mannschaft job even when it was only available at the end of the 2020 World Cup. Klopp has now dismissed reports of his interests.
“If I’m available for the job? No. After the summer, no,” Klopp said during the press conference ahead of Liverpool’s second tie against RB Leipzig in Budapest.
“Jogi Low did an incredible job — he’s the longest servant we’ve ever had in Germany. He did an incredible job.
“I understand he wants to have this highlight with the European Championship and squeeze everything out he can in the tournament then someone else will do the job, I’m sure. I’m sure the German FA will find a solution.”
Klopp is under contract till 2024 and said he won’t walk away from his contract despite being under pressure due to recent poor run of results, claiming he never walked out of his contracts at his former jobs at Mainz and Borussia Dortmund.
