I’ll never forget this goal, says Barça youngster Ilaix Moriba on his first goal
Barça La Masia graduate Ilaix Moriba scored his first goal for Barça senior team in the 2-0 defeat of Osasuna, a left footed shot from outside the box, assisted by Messi and has said he will never forget the goal for the rest of his life.
“I like to shoot, I don’t know how I cut in and shot with my left… thanks to God, it went in,” the 18year old said after the match.
“I’ll never forget this. I’ll take it to my grave.”
He was born in Guinea to a Guinea mother and Liberian father, he joined La Masia from Barça rivals Espanyol in 2010 as a seven year old and impressed at all youth levels. He was promoted to the first team this season by Ronald Koeman.
Ilaix has now made six senior appearances, his first start coming in the 5-1 win over Elche where he assisted the opening goal for a fellow first time starter Francis Trincao.
Ilaix assisted Messi’s goal against Sevilla in the 2-0 La Liga win last week and Messi assisted his first Barça goal. He shared an image of him and Messi when he first joined Barça on social media weeks ago.
