Rohr on Nigerian foods: you have very good chicken in Nigeria
Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is a fan of some Nigerian foods and names chicken, beef, fish and vegetable soup as his favourites but not when they are too spicy.
Rohr who has been in charge of the Super Eagles since 2016 shared a little insight on what food is like on the first day of camping and how they have a blend of African and European foods as the Nigerian squad is a mix of African and European born players.
“When the players come around for the international break, the first evening, they have African foods,” Rohr told News Central Africa.
“The first evenings of camping at the hotel, we have African foods, we allow them. We also have European foods because some of them were born in Europe and are used more to European foods.
“I taste it too, I love chicken, you have very good chicken in Nigeria, you have good beef, you also have fish, I like it but not too spicy. I like vegetable soup also. I try to find the right way between being careful of my stomach and trying new things.”
The Franco-German has overseen a fair era in charge of the Super Eagles, leading the Eagles to third place at the 2019 AFCON and signed a new contract last year until 2022.
