I am one of the best goalkeepers in Europe – RB Leipzig’s Peter Gulasci
RB Leipzig goalkeeper Peter Gulasci has made a bold claim that he is one of the best shot stoppers in Europe. The Hungarian has kept 11 clean sheets in 22 Bundesliga games (the most in the league) and conceded 18 goals (the fewest in the league).
His goalkeeping heroics has helped Julian Nagelsmann’s side up to second and two points behind champions Bayern Munich and face Borussia Monchengladbach this weekend.
“I think if we look at my performances over the last few years, I can say that I’m really among probably the best keepers in Europe, which makes me really proud,” Gulasci told Bundesliga.
“Everybody has a different opinion about goalkeepers – there are a lot of good goalkeepers at top teams who are performing really consistently at a high level. I’m trying to do my best, and I always said if I can climb up on that ranking, then it makes me really proud.”
The 30year old conceded two goals against his former club Liverpool in the Champions League in Budapest which leaves a high mountain to climb when they visit Anfield. Gulasci was on the books of Liverpool for five years between 200-2013 but never made any senior appearance.
