Dias and Stones make it 20 wins in a row for Manchester City
Defenders Ruben Dias and John Stones scored on either side of Michail Antonio’s goal at the Etihad Stadium to give Pep Guardiola’s side their 20th successive victory and send them 13 points clear at the top of the table.
Guardiola went really hard with his rotation as he made seven changes to the side that beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-0 midweek in the Champions League with Joao Cancelo the most notable drop and Sergio Aguero starting only for the third time this season.
City scored with their first real show of life as Kevin De Bruyne’s cross was headed in by Ruben Dias to open the scoring and the Hammers responded immediately through Michail Antonio.
City got their winner in the 68th minute after Oleksandar Zinchenko and Riyad Mahrez combined before the latter sent a cross that defender John Stones finished from 12yards, a strike many strikers would be jealous of.
Issa Diop almost stunned City in the final minute of the game after sending a header over the bar. Up next for City are Wolves and rivals Manchester United.
