Real Madrid left it late to seal a winner over Atalanta in Italy while Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City continued their brilliant run and dominated Borussia Monchengladbach.

Atalanta played the majority of the night with 10 men after Remo Freuler was red carded in the 17th minute but stood solid and didn’t allow 13 times winner Real Madrid break them until the 86th minute through Ferland Mendy.

Bernardo Silva scored one and assisted Gabriel Jesus for the other in the 2-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach as Pep Guardiola’s men continued their unbeaten run. The win away is City’s 12th in a row, a new record for an English side.

The City Gladbach game ended with no card issued and there’s still all to play for between Madrid and Atalanta. The second legs take place on March 16.
