The German Football League (DFL) has imposed a fine of €75,000 on Borussia Dortmund after their fans and players celebrated the Revierderby victory with no masks on and no social distancing observed.
Erling Haaland who scored twice in the derby and Emre Can were filmed celebrating with fans who had no masks on when the team bus was stopped.
“There is no question that the “Revierderby” is a special game. Nevertheless, it is the club’s responsibility to control and monitor compliance with the rules,” the DFL said in a statement.
Borussia Dortmund, aware of the situation, yesterday condemned the actions of their players and fans and issued a public apology.
“The club has the right to lodge a complaint within five days.” add the DFL.
