Erling Haaland scored a second brace in one week, the first against Sevilla in a 3-2 away win in the Champions League in midweek to help Dortmund demolish Schalke 04 in the Revierderby with a 4-0 win.
Haaland’s first goal was an acrobatic volley set up by English youngster Jadon Sancho who had opened the scoring three minutes earlier.
Left back Raphael Guerreiro sealed all three points with the third goal on the hourmark before another English youngster Jude Bellingham came off the bench to set up Haaland’s second of the night.
Dortmund remains in sixth but are only six points behind fourth placed Eintracht Frankfurt who beat champions Bayern Munich 2-1 earlier in the day.
