Arteta reveals he and Guardiola support each other in difficult moments

Mikel Arteta was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City before Arsenal came calling after they sacked Unai Emery in December 2019.

Arteta has undergone some difficult times at Arsenal, went on losing streaks this season before eventually turning it around on Boxing Day against Chelsea. He reveals his relationship with Guardiola and his help.

“We have been in contact a lot since I have been here in good moments and bad moments. Also, when he had some difficult moments and now he is having great moments but the relationship does not change,” Arteta said.

“Always we have some advice and support and it is good for any moment in your career because you need people as much as possible that have had these situations and then the advice is much more concrete and useful.”

Apprentice would face his former boss when Arsenal play Man City on Sunday. Man City are top of the table, 10 points clear while Arsenal are 10th on the log.
