Jerome Boateng’s ex-girlfriend found dead a week after breakup

The girlfriend of Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, Kasia Lenhardt, was found dead in her apartment in the German capital by the police on Tuesday.

The two had been dating for over a year before announcing their separation on February 2 due to allegations of blackmail and infidelity that hit their affair.

The 25year old mother of one was reported to have taken her own life according to a statement by Berlin Police:

“Yesterday a police operation took place in Berlin-Charlottenburg at around 8.30pm on suspicion of suicide. One person was found dead in the flat. There are no indications of any other person’s guilt.”

“This has stunned us, Jerome came to me and asked me to return home. After a negative test he will return home and not be available until further notice.” head coach Hansi Flick confirmed Boateng’s departure from the Club World Cup camp in Qatar where Bayern Munich are hoping to complete a clean sweep of all competitions they participated in in the last one year.
