Talking about title race after our recent form would be silly – Klopp

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp says it would be silly to talk about the title race after Liverpool’s latest slump; a 1-0 home loss to Burnley that ended their 68 games unbeaten run at Anfield.

Klopp described the loss as a punch in the face, a tough one and not easy to explain. He also said it was not easy to lose the game but Liverpool lost it.

Liverpool won their first league title in 30years and defending it this season is looking less likely as their recent form is drifting them away from the race.

“If I sit now here, losing against Burnley and didn’t score for the last four games and talk about the title race, how silly that would be?” Klopp told BBC Sports.

The Reds currently sit in fourth, six point behind leaders Manchester United and just a point above fifth placed Tottenham who have a game in hand.
