Chelsea close academy due to coronavirus outbreak

Chelsea have been forced to close the academy facilities at their Cobham training complex after many cases of coronavirus among players and staff.

According to Goal, Chelsea recorded 20 cases of coronavirus in the club’s youth levels which has forced a close for deep cleansing to be done and affected individuals to isolate.

The senior team and women’s team are not affected by the outbreak and will continue to train in separate bubbles and under strict measures.

Chelsea invited a few members of the development squad to the first team for the FA Cup but only Faustino Anjorin made the matchday squad.
