Manchester United semifinal jinx under Solskjær continues
Manchester United suffered another defeat against city rivals Manchester City, a 2-0 loss at Old Trafford in the semifinal of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
Goals from defender John Stones and a volley from Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho condemned United to a 2-0 home loss to Pep Guardiola’s side.
This will be Pep Guardiola’s fourth final in his five years as City’s manager as he has never lost a Carabao Cup final. The last time he lost a Carabao Cup match was against Jose MMourinho’s Manchester United in 2016.
Manchester United are yet to play a final under Ole Gunnar Solskjær and have lost four semifinals; two Carabao Cup semifinal losses to Manchester City, FA Cup semifinal loss to Chelsea and Europa League semifinal loss to Sevilla.
City will now face Tottenham Hotspur in the final at Wembley on April 25.
