Gladbach striker Marcus Thuram has been handed a fine of €40,000 and a six game ban for spitting on Hoffenheim’s Stefan Posch.

“The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) has suspended Marcus Thuram from Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach in single judge proceedings after the DFB control committee has been charged with assaulting the opponent after a previous offense against him occupied by six competitive games by the licensed team and a 40,000 euro fine.” the DFB said in a statement.
