FA bans Trippier for 10 weeks as Atletico Madrid await RFEF confirmation
Atletico Madrid have thus far only read about Kieran Trippier’s 10-week ban due to breaking betting regulations on the English Football Association (FA)’s website, so they are waiting for official confirmation from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Los Colchoneros understand that, although the FA have made this announcement with relation to Trippier’s participation with England and Atletico, they must be notified by the RFEF.
The ban, which will have been signed off by FIFA, will relate to “all football and football-related activities”, meaning that the right-back will be unable to even train.
Trippier was also fined £70,000 for breaking the FA anti-betting rules.
So far this season, Trippier is the only Atletico outfielder to have played every game so far this season in LaLiga Santander and the Champions League.
He joined Atletico Madrid in 2019 from Tottenham and has been an important player for Diego Simeone.
