West Brom have to fight out of trouble, says Sam Allardyce
West Brom new boss Sam Allardyce says the team will have to battle their way out of trouble after losing his first match in charge of the club.
Aston Villa beat 10-man West Brom 3-0 at the Hawthorns and further made climbing out of the relegation zone a more uphill task.
“We need to know how to fight and have a fighting spirit to get out of this position,” said Allardyce after the game.
“We are a team that are going to have to battle our way out. We may need a more battling approach playing a particular style of football to get the points we need to get out of trouble.”
Allardyce was hired to help the club out of its current woes after Slaven Bilic was fired last week. He’s not new to such tasks as he has helped former clubs Newcastle, West Ham and others out of similar positions.
West Brom sit 19th on the log with seven points from 14 games and will play champions and league leaders Liverpool on Boxing Day.
