He called me the mole, Casillas opens up on his feud with Mourinho

At the end of Jose Mourinho’s time at Real Madrid, he had it very rough with his players especially goalkeeper Iker Casillas who lost his place in the team. 

Mourinho accused Casillas as being the mole who leaks information from the dressing room to the press because he’s a friend of the press, an allegation Casillas denied but was willing to let Mourinho think he was guilty.

“He accused me of being a friend of the press,” Casillas remembered as part of a Movistar + documentary, the latest episode of which focused on the relationship between the pair (via Marca)

“I know people in the press, how could I not know them? But, it’s another thing to filter information.

“People were talking about me, but I kept quiet, I didn’t respond and I accepted that I was being seen as the mole.”

The turbulent relationship with Casillas and open criticism of Sergio Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo made Jose Mourinho lose the dressing room and ultimately led to his departure at Madrid in 2013.
