Scoring against Barcelona, a team I grew up watching is very special for me – Weston McKennie
Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie has described his volley against Barcelona as a very special one for him.
The on-loan Schalke player fired home from a Juan Cuadrado cross in the 20th minute to double Juve’s advantage in between two Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalties.
“I was lucky enough to score in the last game I played against Torino in the derby and it’s the same thing I said then, me and Cuadrado have got the same hair, we have got the mental connection, it worked out good and like you said it was a special goal for me,” the American said.
“I think it’s my second Champions League goal and it was against Barcelona, a team that you watched growing up, so it was very special for me.”
Juventus handed Barcelona their first loss at the Nou Camp in the Champions League since 2009 to edge Barcelona and win group G.
