Kylian Mbappe’s father has issued an update on his son’s future at PSG amid uncertainties and reported interests from other clubs.
Mbappe joined the Paris giants from Monaco in 2017 and scored his 100th goal in 137 games for the club in the 3-1 win at Montpellier at the weekend.
His current contract runs till 2022 but PSG are keen to have him commit to an extension amid reported links from Real Madrid.
His father has now opened on the progress of the contact talks.
“We talk, we talk. We want to talk, I think he too wants to discuss. It’s normal. The time comes to have a clearer idea about his future,” he told Canal Plus.
“We are talking quietly, things are progressing well, we have taken steps forward compared to 10-15 days ago. We will continue.”
“It cannot disturb him because he plays in a great team, and is surrounded by great players. It allows him to get closer to his dreams and his ambitions.” he said on whether he’s distracted by the transfer rumours.
Mbappe will be hoping to end his Champions League goal drought when PSG play Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir in a match that will decide their qualification to the Champions League round of 16.
