Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman and Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo have both agreed about arguably the greatest players of all time managed by each of them.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed years of rivalry with Barcelona and Real Madrid before Ronaldo moved to Juventus in 2018. The two are now set to meet for the first time since then.
Ronald Koeman during his press conference said “It will be fantastic to see two great champions like Messi and Cristiano, the best of the last 15 years… It’s not nice to say who is the best, I admire both, because they are incredible and have given us great evenings.”
Pirlo during his press conference said: Ronald Koeman is right, it would be wrong to say who is better between Messi and Ronaldo. They are two phenomenons that put on spectacles for millions of fans. We just have to thank them.”
The two could have met weeks ago but Ronaldo missed the game after testing positive to Covid-19. The last time the two met in the Champions League was in 2011, Messi scored a beautiful solo goal and it ended with two goals in favour of Barcelona.
