Former Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen left the North London side for Inter Milan in January 2020 but has found regular playing time hard to come by under Italian manager Antonio Conte.
Claus Hansen, the president of Middelfart Boldklub, a club in Eriksen’s hometown in Denmark where he first started football before moving abroad has described Eriksen as a great guy with great determination while he also said that though he is not finding the right opportunity at Inter, he wants to play for the club.
Hansen said this while speaking exclusively to Europa Calico.
“We are talking about a very intelligent player, he did not have the right opportunities at Inter, but in the Nerazzurri he is happy. He has a great feeling with his teammates, Lukaku above all,” he said about Eriksen’s time at the Nerazzurri so far.
“I don’t know Conte, let alone the reasons for his decisions. I’m just saying that someone like Christian has to play, we all know his qualities.”
There are several rumours linking the Dane with a January exit with a return to the Premier League most likely an option. Hansen said he doesn’t know where he’d end up but said Eriksen really wants to play for Inter.
“I don’t know and I don’t want to make these speeches. Christian wants to play with the Inter shirt, which is an excellent team, he likes the Nerazzurri environment.” he said.
