Brazilian winger Willian made a summer switch across London from Chelsea to Arsenal after seven years with the Blues.
His final season with the Blues was under Frank Lampard who he played with in Frank’s final season with the Blues. He now plays for Mikel Arteta at Arsenal and has drawn a line of comparison between the two.
The two are former midfielders of their clubs and enjoyed success as players with the clubs but Willian has said there’s a difference in the management style of the two.
“Their football philosophies are very different. Perhaps the only similarity is that they’re young managers with a bright future ahead of them,” he told FourFourTwo magazine.
“The way they look at the game isn’t similar. Mikel is more obsessed about the tactical aspects of football. He has a great understanding of the tactical side and dedicates a lot of time to it during his training sessions. Frank obviously works on his tactics as well, but in a different way.”
Willian signed a three years contract with Arsenal after rejecting a contract from Chelsea and stated that he was convinced by Arteta’s project.
