Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana defender Anele Ngcongca has tragically died in a car accident this morning.
The 33year old who had spells in Belgium and France before returning to South Africa was reported to have died from severe injuries sustained from the crash.
The right-back had over 50 appearances for the Bafana Bafana and was part of the team when South Africa became the first country to host a FIFA World Cup in 2010.
He joins a list of South African players to die from car accidents this year, a list which includes Gift Leremi, Mondli Cele, Richard Henyekane, Lesley Manyathela, Cecil Lolo, Christopher Moleko and others.
May his soul rest in peace.
