Super Eagles and Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi has downplayed comparison to Nigerian football legend Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

Okocha, Iwobi’s uncle is regarded by many as the most talented Nigerian player ever. There are comparisons in style of play and skillfulness between the two but Iwobi said he’s not anywhere near Okocha but he hopes to do better than him.

“He’s always encouraging me, I don’t feel the pressure at all. He has always being telling me from young just go and express yourself so I don’t feel no pressure whenever I’m stepping on the pitch,” he said on Premier League Productions Weekend Warmup

“I remember as a kid just going to watch him and some of the skills, some of the performances, the assists, the goals he used to get were outrageous. Maybe one day I can produce better than him.”

Iwobi starred for the Super Eagles recently with two beautiful goals against Sierra Leone though the match ended in a disappointing 4-4 draw.
