Rashford and Hamilton honoured at British GQ Awards

British sport personalities, footballer Marcus Rashford and F1 driver Lewis Hamilton were honoured at the British GQ awards last night.

Marcus Rashford, 23, was named the Campaigner of the Year for his role in fighting against child food poverty in the UK. The Manchester United forward has helped campaign for the government to sustain free school meal vouchers during summer holidays and also set up a task force where different food companies in the UK have committed to.

Lewis Hamilton, 35, was awarded the Game Changer of the Year. Hamilton in 2020 surpassed Michael Schumacher for most races won and matched Schumacher’s seven world championships. He is also vocal about Black Lives Matter Campaign.

Both are recipient of the MBE Award. Hamilton received his in 2009 with Rashford just receiving his this year. It is also reported that Hamilton would be knighted by Queen Elizabeth this year.
