Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has confirmed that American winger Christian Pulisic is fit and available for selection for Sunday’s London derby against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.
“Christian Pulisic is back fit for the weekend. I have competition in that area.” Lampard said after the 2-1 away victory at Rennes that saw the Blues through to the round of 16 of the Champions League.
Pulisic pulled out injured during the warm-up ahead of the 3-0 win over Burnley and was replaced by Timo Werner who scored the third goal of the match. He has been sidelined since then and Lampard has declared him fit for the weekend.
Chelsea and Frank Lampard welcome their former boss Jose Mourinho back to Stamford Bridge. The Blues got the better of Spurs last season, winning both home and away. Tottenham have eliminated Chelsea from the Carabao Cup this season.
Pulisic’s return would be a major boost for Frank Lampard for the tricky encounter. Pulisic scored 11 goals and assisted another 11 despite an injury-laden year last season.
