Etoo, in a recent post on his Instagram page said Osimhen represents an ilk of talented, young African talents that can do big things, if they use the opportunities they have well.

Osimhen who has had an impressive start to life in the Serie A, already becoming a fans favourite at Napoli after a big money move from Lille, received his marching orders in the Partenopei’s Europa League clash with Real Sociedad.

Etoo was once in those shoes, having broken out as a very young attacker from the Real Madrid Castilla and Real Mallorca before a very successful period at Barcelona ensured he became one of the finest strikers in the world, and the Third Best Player in the world in 2005.

“Victor Osimhen has a lot of talents. He is at one of the best clubs in Italy, Napoli and his happiness will be the happiness of all Africans,” Etoo said.

“He is a very fast player with a great technique and he is very accurate in front of goal. He has a coach who has a lot of character and who can help him to become the unique player that we Africans want him to become. He has everything he needs to succeed, now it is up tohim to search for the respect he deserves.

“He should never stop working. He needs to work everyday, 24/7.”

The former Inter Milan, Chelsea, Anzhi Makachkala and Antalyaspor striker who represented the Indomitable Lions of Cameroom in four World Cups also advised young African footballers to aspire for greatness and dream big ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

“All these young players should dream. The dream is the begining of every success, every project. They may have the chance to participate in the best World Cup ever organised, here in Qatar, and that dream should become a reality as long as they give themselves the means to do so.”
