Reason Osimhen Is Rejecting Napoli Move

Victor Osimhen is a reported interest of Napoli and an offer has been made to Lille, Omasports has gathered.

The Nigerian attacker however is not totally committed to leaving for the Italian club, citing racism and not wanting a repeat of what he faced at VFL Wolfsburg.

At Wolfsburg, Osimhen faced a lot of bad times, struggling with injuries and loneliness on many occasions. This led him to deleting many photos on his Instagram handle as he was in a bad state.

While the German team held him in high regard, he was not playing and was unhappy about that.

He moved to Belgium afterwards where he joined Zulte Waregem. At Waregem, he wasn’t given a chance to prove himself, a situation that upset him and reignited his desire to prove them wrong.

He was sent back to Wolfsburg and while thinking of his next move, his agent told him he was going back to Belgium. He was reluctant because the first experience there was bad, and sad. At the point, Club Brugge rejected him because he wasn’t successful at Zulte Waregem. His agent took him to Royal Sporting Charleroi where he made a big impression, scoring 19 goals and building himself a cult hero status at the club. Today, he is highly revered in Charleroi.

A season later, Osimhen is the Lille Player of the Year, in the French Ligue 1 team of the season and is the club’s most prized asset. A lot has happened and the Nigerian hotshot wants where he would be totally accepted, a reason he hasn’t settled for the Napoli move yet.

With cases of racism in Italy, he is waiting for offers from places he will be more comfortable, however, there are many people, including family members and friends trying to convince him to settle for the Southern Italian team.

While Osimhen has not been clearcut about his desire not to move to Napoli yet, he has rejected advances and advice of many people till now.

He may accept the move if he changes his mind and sees a future in Napoli, as he is making strong enquiries about life in Italy from former Nigerian footballers, but for now, he has not sanctioned a move to Napoli, with his previous experiences rife on his mind.

The coming days will reveal more and Omasports will keep you updated.
