Playing As A Defender Against Dortmund Was Difficult – Peter Olayinka
Super Eagles and Slavia Praha attacker, Peter Olayinka has said playing as a defender was very diffcult and opined that his team, Slavia Praha deserved at least a draw in their game against Borussia Dortmund.
Olayinka, speaking with Omasport after his team’s UCL tie at the Signal Iduna Park said;
”I had a good performance, played to the coach’s instructions.
It wasn’t easy playing as a defender. It’s been good performances so far, and today was fair too.
”I think we deserved at least a point from the game because we gave our all and tried our best.
”I’d have preferred playing as a left high winger and not as a low winger. But it is football, and you have to do what the coach wants.
”It wasn’t easy for me, because I had to track back to help the defense, watch the attackers runs, and the defenders too.
”The role is not new to me, I’ve been playing as a left winger for two years now.”
On his coach’s reactions after the game, he said;
”The coach embraced us, encouraged us to do well because nobody felt we could even pick a point but we have tried our best.
”We will see how next season will be and will try to return here,” he concluded.
