Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper, Andre Onana was seen mumbling some words to Nigerian attacker, Victor Osimhen during their UEFA Champions League game.

Curiously, I asked Onana and Osimhen what they were discussing, in separate interviews and both players gave the same response.

Osimhen was particularly grateful for Onana’s good advice and promised to go and access his actions again for better behaviours.

The game was a frustrating one for the Nigerian, as his team struggled to play at the level of Ajax.

Onana said about what he told Osimhen; ”I was talking about the game, his emotions. You don’t play football with emotions. He already had a yellow card and I was telling him to be smart.”

Osimehn on his part reserved praises for the ‘experienced’ Onana.

”Sometimes you get carried away by the emotions of the game. I had an occasion where the defender pushed me and felt I could get a free kick but the referee said I dived. That upset me and made me push him to try to get the ball.

”It’s normal for a young player like me to get carried away by the emotions of the game but I’ll continue to learn in the game.

”Onana is an experienced player, he told me to be calm and try not to get a red card. Coming from an opponent, and an African brother, an advice like that will be very useful to me. I’ll go back to go look at it but I’m happy he came to me and I’m very grateful,” Osimhen said.

Onana also spoke to me about his love for Flavour, he said; ”I talk to Flavour, he’s my favourite artiste.”
