Club Brugge forward, David Okereke has revealed it has always been his dream to play in the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking to journalists after his team’s defeat to PSG at the Parc Des Princes, Okereke said they fought hard in the game to take something better home but that’s a reality of the game of football.
”It’s normal we react after fighting hard to take a draw home.
”The team is growing, there are lots of players. We need to use our characteristics differently. We will get to the point we’ll make the game count. We take the game as it comes.
On his expectation of a Super Eagles chance, he said; ”I just have to keep doing my thing so when a chance to get to the Super Eagles comes, it will be something great.”
His relationship with Emmanuel Dennis, his Nigerian teammate; ”Emmanuel is a good friend. We try to look out for each other when things aren’t going well.”
On playing in the biggest stage of European club football, ”It’s a dream come true. I’ll keep working, I have many games to play and I’ll keep learning. I still have lots of games to play in the UCL,” he told Omasport’s Oma Akatugba.
Okereke who has previously represented the Dream Team VII (Nigeria U-23) said his current position is something that elates him remembering how he started.
”It’s a growing process, it’s something I’m proud of.
”The Super Eagles is every Nigerian’s dream. If I get there, I will still have to prove myself to play.”
