Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun has said he is often lost when the Super Eagles’ players sing and dance in camp or in the team bus.

Balogun in an interview with Omasport said he likes the songs a lot but due to the dissimilarity in his upbringing, he finds it hard to get along.

However, the former Mainz defender said he still tries to catch up with others in the team when they sing as he tries to participate and ensure there is unity in the team.

“In Europe, it’s quite different. When we travel to the games, some of us just sit, listen to music, and others may be talking to their families and everybody is on his own. When we get into the locker room, we listen to songs but nobody is dancing. Sometimes whenever I am in Europe, I miss the way we travel to the games in Nigeria because it helps us to ease off the pressure easily. It gives you some special kind of mood because everybody is together, we play together, we laugh together, have fun together and you are just positive . When we travel to the games in Europe everybody is quiet, trying to focus and I think it is maybe too serious and gives you too much tension unlike in Nigeria, you can lose the tension for a bit because it would come anyway once you hit the field for warm up.”

Leon Balogun returned to the Super Eagles line up against Guinea after missing the first match against Burundi due to illness.
